Laying the foundations

I have been slowly trying to replace my makeup collection and one if the things I defiantly needed was a new foundation

The choice these days can be pretty overwhelming and there are so many options for different skin types that it made my head hurt!

I have pretty combination skin and I find it's quite textured and my pores are pretty visible most of the time, this makes choosing a foundation difficult as although it can look great when the assistant pits it on at the counter, two hours later it's melted off my face and into the floor. Obviously at this point people are screaming PRIMER PRIMERRRR but I have already

Gone down this road to no avail.

My shiny Tzone is the bane of my life, so far I havn't found anything that will keep it matte all day but I also in the grand scheme of things havn't even really scratched the surface.

My sister is quite a high end makeup fan and being my sister we have pretty much the same skin type, she suggested I try the Estée Lauder double wear light as it is apparently great for combo-oily skin types.

I am the kind of person who hates the look of foundation on the skin. I'd rather my skin really did look like skin than a cakey mess and I find with most foundations they are just far too heavy for  me and sink into my pores making them even more noticeable, the Estée Lauder double wear light comes somewhere in the middle. I don't use a brush for applying foundation as I find it just exaggerated the textures of my skin so instead I just pat it in with my fingers. Although I do like this foundation and it was pretty long wearing I still found my nose a shining beacon of light after a couple of hours and had to powder and blot as normal.the coverage was pretty average and to be honest I wouldn't rate this foundation above the drugstore ones I was using previously

Product review: L'oreal Ever Riche Nourishing Intense Mask

Something a little different from me today!

This month I went a little crazy in boots as it was 3 for 2 which, girls, you know is dangerous. I bought so many things I cant remember half of them but one of them stuck in my mind and I though it was brilliant so I'm giving it a little bit of a review!

I've been growing out my hair for about 3 years or so now and it was previously bleached, dyed dark and bleached out again so as you can imagine it needs a lot of care and attention! I have used many many different hair masks in my time varying from the super cheap to stupidly expensive so I have tried both ends of the spectrum.

The product I am reviewing today is the L'oreal Hair Expertise Ever Riche Nourishing Intense hair mask for dry and very dry hair, coming in at a whopping £4.99 for 200ml at Morrisons you get a lot for your money without breaking the bank.




















Containing botanical oils and apricot seed this mask smells wonderful, It has a slight Shea butter aroma to it which lingers on the hair but not too strongly, definitely one of the better smelling masks I have tried. As an added bonus it also contains no waxes and is sulphate free.

The mask has the Constancy of a light Shea butter but I don't find it to be too heavy on the hair at all, I do have really thick hair, but if used on mid-lengths and ends of fine hair it would also do a great job. I found it to be so moisturising and nourishing but also detangles really well and if you have long hair like me that's an absolute must as I always like to comb my conditioner through properly, it left my hair super soft after rinsing and my ends feeling really well conditioned. If I have a day off and I know I don't need to go out I will quite happily sit with this on my hair wrapped in a towel for a few hours, even after that time my hair isn't left a greasy mess, a good one for a girls night in or pampering session and for the price I really think it is great value and does a wonderful job of revamping my damaged locks! I cant wait to try more products in the Ever Riche range!

Im really loving the "Inside Out" dresses that Blackmilk have been bringing out recently. Obviously I needed one (or two)

Really wishing that I had bought the first one (peacock vs purple galaxy) but the ones I have now are pretty cool!

I got the Amethyst Vs Aurora dress from the Lost Puppies collection a couple of weeks ago and I'm so in love with it. Pretty sure that I'm going to be wearing it all summer long, the colours are really fresh and summery and I just love blues and green on me! (when I have a tan!)

It's one of those dresses that you can get away with wearing Vans with. because who wants to walk around in heels in the middle of summer or on holiday? Im going to Italy this summer and it's going to feature in most my holiday snaps I imagine!

When I first put it on I thought I preferred the Amethyst side to the Aurora Skye but now I cant really decide, the amethyst is a lot more flattering as It's a darker colour and you can't see creases in the fabric, but I loveeee the colours of the Aurora skye side I'ts just too pretty, guess I'll just have to whip it inside out half way through the day! Excellent.

Vintage fringe

Have you ever found something so amazing in eBay that you didn't think there was a chance you would win it in hell?

I did last week. I found a vintage 80s fringed leather and suede biker jacket and I could have cried it was so perfect. I also could've cried that the listing still had  6 days to go and a starting bid of £19.99

I watched it constantly and no one bid, it got to the last day of the auction and I think I was actually sweating I was that anxious to win it. At 5 mins to go I ws fully expecting a huge influx of bids to send it over my price range, but they never came! I bid and won!!! I couldn't believe it. Fucking amazing

It arrived a week or so later and I was pretty nervous about it. As I knew I would find one exactly the same again I was worried it was going to be too big, but I slipped it on and it fit like a dream I was so happy. Materialistic bitch yes.

3,2,1 cheeeeeeese

A couple of months ago I decided that my trusty Iphone 5 was not cutting it for me anymore as a camera, especially for fashion blogging trying to balance your phone outside on a tiny tripod Isn't very much fun, in fact its a bit of a nightmare. I called upon a good photographer friend of mine who I do a lot of modelling for and he pointed me in the direction of the Pentax Q

Now I am by no means a camera buff. In fact I'm a complete novice, but this camera got me excited! It is so tiny and I mean really really small, one of the smallest mirror-less cameras about at the moment. Originally I think the price was around £500 but it has come way down so I snagged one including a 5 15 lens for £169.99 from pixmania

The camera came really quickly so I cant fault their service, I would definatley recommend them!

Moving on.. the camera came and I got my friend Edd to come and show me some basics, It was a lot to take in really, mostly blur of ISOs and white balances, kind of like a crash course in Japanese or Spanish, total brain overload.

I had a play with it over the next few days and I can honestly say I really love it, I'ts so small yet still the picture quality is amazing, there are many filters that you can use on the camera, so if you dont want to you dont even really need to edit your photos afterwards. Its also really light and pretty easy (even for me) to use.

I went up to Blackpool with Edd and took a few snaps on the sea front, edited in Adobe Lightroom, Im suitably impressed that even I can get a good picture or two with this camera!
